Sugimoto Saichi, a former soldier who was nicknamed "Immortal Sugimoto," for his demonic fighting style, was in the 203 Highlands, which became the most harsh battlefield of the Russo-Japanese War, spent much time picking gold dust in Hokkaido to get a large sum of money for a certain purpose. Then Sugimoto learns of the huge gold bars that have been robbed by the Ainu people. The man who stole the gold bar, "Nopperabo," the man who stole the gold bar, hid it in a certain place just before he was caught, and tattooed the bodies of 24 prisoners with tattoos indicating the location, causing them to escape. It is said that prisoner tattoos will all be one code. At that time, a single Ainu girl saves Sugimoto, who is attacked by a wild brown bear. A girl named "Ashi (Ri)pa" had her father killed by the man who stole the gold bar. Sugimoto chases the gold bar and Asi (Ri)pa, who wants to avenge her father, decide to take action together. The same target for the gold bar is Lieutenant Tsurumi Atsushiro, the 7th Division of the Imperial Japanese Army. For division members who were fighting for their lives in the Russo-Japanese War but were not rewarded, they were planning to conquer Hokkaido, and needed gold bars in place of their war funds. Another person, Hijikata Toshizo, also known as the "devil's Demon Commander" of the Shinsengumi, who was said to have been killed in the Boshin War, is among the escaped prisoners, joining his former ally, Nagakura Shinpachi, and pursuing gold bars in order to realize his ambitions.
