Shooting, playback, flashing, button operation etc. are normal. However, there is a phenomenon where the date is reset when the battery is removed, which is common on old compact digital cameras. The AA batteries you use are not cheap alkaline batteries sold at 100 yen stores. Please use high-quality charging batteries such as Eneloop.
